Kasaragod: ‘It is duty of everyone to protect Constitution’

Kasaragod: “It is the duty of everyone to protect the Constitution, said State Ports Minister Ahmed Dewar Kovil and added that the Administration is obliged to ensure the rights and sovereignty of citizens.

He was speaking after hoisting the National Flag at Kasaragod Municipal Stadium on the occasion of Republic Day.

MP Rajamohan Unnithan, MLAs A. K. M. Ashraf, N. A. Nellikunnu, C.bH. Kunhambu, E. Chandrasekharan, M. Rajagopalan, Zilla Panchayat Vice-President Shanavas Padur and others were present.

Deputy Commissioner Bhandari Swagat Ranvirchand and District Police Chief Dr. Vaibhav Saxena received the salute.

Freedom fighters K. Kunhakannan Nambiar and Gopalan Nair were the Chief guests.

Chengala Grama Panchayat President Khader Badariya, Kasaragod Block Panchayat President C. A. Saima, ASP P. K. Raju, ASP Muhammed Nadimuddin, RDO Atul Swaminath, Additional Deputy Commissioner S. Shashidharan Pillai, K. Ajesh Tahasildar, DySPs, other Block Gram Panchayat representatives of the District, Revenue, Police Officers, Government Public Sector Employees and the general public were present at the Republic Day celebrations.
