Kasargod: Officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided two houses here on Sunday, April 28, while on the lookout for suspects of the Sri Lanka serial bomb blasts on Easter Sunday.

Based on credible information that two people in the district were linked to the serial blast case, the officials arrived from Kochi, raided two houses in Vidyanagar and seized mobile phones and crucial documents from the residences of the suspects- Abubakar Siddique and Ahmed Arafat.

It is learnt that the raids were conducted as part of a secret operation, as the police too had no clue about this.

According to the officials, the two suspects are said to be following the principles of the mastermind behind the serial blast case, Zahran Hashim. Based on this information, the NIA officials issued notice to the two suspects and ordered them to be present at the NIA office at Kochi, tomorrow.
