Kasargod: The Bovikanam Zonal Forest officials arrested three persons in connection with illegal felling and smuggling Sandalwood trees here on Saturday, May 18.
The accused are Ramesh (19), a resident of Kottangui of Karadka and Vishwanath (37) of Malangai.
A 16-year-old too has been arrested.
According to forest officials, the accused were trying to transport Sandalwood logs illegally from Karadka Forest Reserve.
The officials have seized the equipment used to chop the trees.
