Kundapur: It is only since a year that she has been learning Kannada and guess what, this young lass has scored 99 marks out of 100 in state language.
Meet Shreya Ganapathy Kamath of Holy Rosary English Medium School here.
Daughter of SAARC Deputy Director Ganapathy Kamath and Shubha Kamath, Shreya never had a choice but to travel with her parents to countries where her father would be posted.
In this way, she has studied in six different nations before coming down to India to continue her tenth standard in Kundapur.
After having lived in Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Bhutan, Uganda, Mumbai, Hubballi, and Tumakuru, finally her parents thought of sending her to their native place-Kundapur to complete SSLC.
Here she chose Kannada as her second language for her studies in 10th standard. With little knowledge of Kannada, she took writing and reading of Kannada as a challenge and strove hard to excel in the language.
School Principal Joyslen and Kannada teacher Prashanth Louis is quoted in media saying that Shreya has this exceptional skill of grasping what is taught in the classroom.
” It was the hard work, perseverance and dedication which helped her,” the teacher adds.
She is also good at drawing, swimming, writing poems, skating, dance and singing. She has won several prizes for her extracurricular activities. She has scored 600 marks in SSLC examinations.
