Thousands bid emotional adieu to Madhukar Shetty at his native village

Kundapura: Thousands of people congregated to Kundapura’s Yadadi village to pay their last respect to upright IPS officer Madhukar Shetty on Sunday.

Shetty passed away on Friday night after battling H1N1 for some time in Hyderabad. Politicians across the political spectrum were seen paying last respect to the officer, who had made an identity for himself because of his straightforward approach.

After the rituals, the body was set on a funeral pyre by his brother Muralidhar Shetty. The funeral pyre was set close to the memorials of his father Vaddarse Raghuram Shetty, a noted journalist and his mother at Yadadi farms.

Samya, daughter of Madhukar Shetty too took part in the rituals.
