‘Chitrabani’ at St. Agnes College on February 26

Mangaluru: St. Agnes College, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Mangaluru is organising ‘Chitrabani’, a short film screening and discussion on February 26 at the A2 auditorium in the college premises at 3 pm.
 
Short films of eminent directors from Iran, Belgium, Sweden, USA, France and India will be screened at the event.
 
Associate Director of Harikatha Prasanga and Script Writer, B A Samvartha, will be the resource person and will lead the discussion after the film screening.
 
“Like the name of the event ‘Chitrabani’ where Chitra means picture or film and Bani means sound or talk, the event intends to engage the audience in discussions after they watch the films. We are screening nine international and national short films that highlight various issues such as politics, gender, human interest etc.,” says St. Agnes College Journalism and Mass Communication, HOD, Laxmi Shenoy.
 
The event is free and open to the public.
 
Short films to be screened are ‘Chorus’ (1982/ Iran) by Abbas Kiarostami (16 mins), ‘De Overkant’ (1966/ Belgium) by Herman Wuyts (09 mins), ‘Bara Prate Lite’ (1997/ Sweden) by Lukas Moodysson (13 mins), ‘In a Heartbeat’ (2017/ USA) by Esteban Bravo & Beth David (04 mins), ‘The Lunch Date’ (1989/ USA) by Adam Davidson (10 mins), ‘The Affair’ (2017/ India) by Hardik Mehta (07 mins), ‘In the Shade of Fallen Chinaar’ (2016/ India) by Shawn Sebastian and NC Fazil (17 mins), ‘Khara Karodpati’ (2011/ India) by Piyush Thakur (19 mins), and ‘An Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge’ (1962/ France) by Robert Enrico (28 mins).
