Mangaluru: The Shakthi Residential School will be organizing a district-level inter-school competition ‘Shakthi Fest 2020’ on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1.
On January 31, for Grade I and II competitions such as action song in English, Kannada and Hindi, storytelling in English and Kannada, colouring, patriotic singing (any language) and fancy dress (individual) will be organized. For Grade III and IV – action song in English, Kannada and Hindi, storytelling in English and Kannada, drawing, patriotic singing (group), and fancy dress (individual) will be held.
On February 1, for Grade V, VI and VII competitions like elocution in English, Kannada and Hindi, Kannada folk song (group), drawing, quiz (general knowledge), spell bee, flower arrangement, fancy dress (individual) and variety entertainment are arranged. Similarly, for Grade VIII, IX and X – elocution in English, Kannada and Hindi, Daasara Padagalu, drawing, quiz (general knowledge), instrumental music (eastern or western), traditional rangoli, folk dance (group), and variety entertainment will be organized.
The winners of the competition will be provided a cash prize and a certificate. Trophies for schools securing first, second and third place based on total points will be awarded.
School principal Vidya Kamath G informed that the last date for registration is Tuesday, January 28.
The entry is free and around 30 to 40 schools are expected to participate. A team comprising of 20 participants from each school can participate.
