Following the scrutiny of nominations for the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, the Election Commission has approved the nominations of 10 candidates.
Among them are Capt Brijesh Chowta (BJP), R Padmaraj (Congress), Kanthappa Alangar (Bahujan Samaj Party), Durga Prasad (Karunada Sevakara Party), KE Manohara (Uttama Prajaakeeya Party), Ranjini M (Karnataka Rashtra Samithi), along with independent candidates Deepak Rajesh Coelho, Maxim Pinto, Sathish B, and Supreeth Kumar Poojary.
As of the last date for filing nominations, the Dakshina Kannada constituency had received 21 nominations from 11 candidates. Similarly, in the Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency, out of 19 nominations filed by 13 candidates, 10 nominations have been deemed in order.
