Mangaluru: MLA for Mangaluru South Constituency J R Lobo on February 10, issued the title deeds under 94 CC of Karnataka State Land Revenue Act for 1138 beneficiaries at Bengre.
On this occasion, MLA J R Lobo was honoured by the Kasba Bengre Social Group.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA J R Lobo said that when Bangarappa was the chief minister in the state, he had issued title deeds to 610 families of Bengre. But due to legal hurdles, though the title deeds were issued, the residents didn’t get the RTC.
“But we have cleared all the legal hurdles and 1138 beneficiaries have availed the title deeds in Bengre. And the 1071 pending applications which are in the process of getting scrutinised, will be distributed within 15 days. The RTC for the same will be given on February 17 during the Revenue Adalath.”
Lobo also said, “I have a dream of constructing a new alternate road connecting the national highway to the old port via Bengre, Tannirbhavi to New Mangalore Port. Already a consultancy has been appointed which is working on the design. And the union and state government will grant Rs 100 Crore for the development of the old port and dredging.”
“I have a dream of taking Mangaluru ahead in terms of economy, employment opportunity and tourism sector. To resume trade ties with Lakshadweep, I had taken a high level delegation there two months ago. And Lakshadweep is also ready to invest Rs 250 Crore. Hence people should also bless me in the coming days,” he added.
