Kasargod: A 16 year old boy was killed in a road accident that occurred on the national highway here on the outskirts of the city on Sunday night.
Famiz Khan (16) from Kanhangad is identified as the deceased. Shamim (21), Shahid (15) and four others suffered severe injuries.
The accident took place when they were returning from Mangalore airport. A speeding truck heading from Kasargod to Mangalore rammed into their car and Famiz died on the spot. Locals immediately shifted injured persons to a private hospital in Mangalore.
The truck driver escaped from the spot soon after the mishap.
City police have registered a case in this regard.
