The Inauguration program of Naturopathy and Yoga Health Awareness Camp began with an invocation for the divine blessings by Abdul Razak. The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Naveen G H welcomed all the guests and also delivered the keynote address. He briefed about the free health care services and that will be provided during the camp. The Chief Guest and all the Guests of honour lighted the lamp and also formally inaugurated the camp. The hospital flyer was released during the event. The Chief Guest for the day, Dr S Padmanabha, Medical Superintendent, Yenepoya Medical Hospital, explained the aims of the Yenepoya hospital and the benefits of Naturopathy and Yoga therapy treatments. Dr Abhay Nirgude, The Vice-Dean of Yenepoya Medical college, Dr Prakash Saldanha, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr Sunitha Saldanha, Hospital Operating Officer of Yenepoya Medical Hospital and Dr Mohammed Guthigar, HOD, Dept of Social Work graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour. The inaugural program concluded with the Vote of Thanks by the Resident Medical Officer of YNYH, Dr Shreya. The inaugural program was moderated by Senior Medical officer of YNYH, Dr Sangeethalaxmi M J.
The Medical Superintendent of YNYH, Dr Naveen G H spoke about Obesity, Diabetes Mellitus and the possible interventions through Naturopathy and Yoga. Dr Sangeethalaxmi M J, SMO and Dr Shreya, RMO spoke about Low Back Pain and Migraine respectively.
The camp was organized for two days, 9 & 10 January 2021 at the Yenepoya Medical Hospital Campus. The camp included Free BMI, BP & RBS checkup, free consultation from Naturopathy and Yoga Doctors, Diet Counseling, Demonstration of therapy equipment, Exhibition and Sale of Dietary food suggested for Obesity, Diabetes Mellitus, Low Back Pain and Migraine. Also treatments like Yoga therapy, Physiotherapy and Acupuncture will be given free of cost for 1 week to those who have enrolled for the camp. Approximately 150 patients have been benefitted from the camp.
