Bantwal: Officials from the department of mines and geology have seized around 30 truckloads of sand stored illegally from Sajipamunnur area in Bantwal taluk limits.
The raids were conducted by the department officials led by Girish Mohan. Officials from public works department assisted the raiding team.
After the district administration imposed a ban on sand mining from June 15, several cases of similar nature have been reported from different parts of the district.
Officials are conducting periodic raids to curb sand mining and transportation of sand.
