Kasargod: A 30-year-old youth slit his throat in full public view during broad daylight and died instantly at Cherkala Panalam on April 2. The horrific incident took place on the national highway in the outskirts of the city.
The deceased has been identified as Harish (30) from Chikkamagalur, based on the identity document recovered.
The youth rushed to a wayside sugarcane outlet by the road side and picked a knife and slit his throat before anyone could react. Within minutes, he collapsed and died.
The exact reason behind his action is not known. His body has been moved to a government hospital in Kasargod for autopsy.
Vidyanagar Police are investigating further into the incident.
