Mangaluru: Another patient was discharged from the Wenlock Hospital after making a full recovery from COVID-19 on Monday, April 13. With this, a total of eight persons out of the 12, who tested positive for COVID-19, have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

The person who was discharged today is a resident of Ajjavara of the Sullia taluk. The 34-year-old man had returned from Dubai and arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on March 18. As he had no symptoms of COVID-19, the health department had asked him to undergo home quarantine. He was admitted to the Sullia Taluk hospital when he developed throat pain and he transferred to the Wenlock hospital on March 28.

His throat swab test results came back positive on March 31.

After treatment at the Wenlock hospital, his throat swab samples tested negative on April 11 and 12 and he was therefore discharged from the hospital today.

Now that eight COVID-19 patients have been discharged after making a full recovery, the Dakshina Kannada district has gone down to the sixth place in the COVID-19 cases list in the entire state. Earlier, the DK district stood at number three.
