Mangaluru: Nirmala Seetharam, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Commerce & Industry visited the 6000sq feet MCC building located in Mallikatta, which will house the said 60 seat startup incubation center.
She said that already Rs 1.18 crore grant has been released to Deputy Commissioner to start the Startup incubation center, which will be ready in another four months.
“There is no dearth of funds. There are many start-ups that go to other places in search of incubation centre. We want to retain them here and provide them place to work on ideas, ” she said adding that an innovation hub has been planned on NITK Surathkal’s along with NITTE. “We will take students, teachers and alumni to IIT Chennai to show them what innovation hub is all about,” she said.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi MP Shobha Karandlaje, Deputy Commissioner KG Jagadish, KCCI president Jeevan Saldhana and others were present.
