Mangaluru: The district has received the test reports of 85 throat swabs, all of which have come back negative for COVID-19 today, April 22.
A total of 16 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the Dakshina Kannada district so far. This includes 12 discharges and a 50-year-old woman from Bantwal who recently succumbed to the illness.
A 67-year-old woman from the Covid victim’s village in the Bantwal taluk is being treated in the ICU for COVID-19. Her condition said to be stable.
Presently, there are a total of three people still receiving treatment for COVID-19 at the Wenlock Hospital.
Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh asked the private hospitals and doctors’ clinic to inform the taluk hospitals if they come across patients showing symptoms of COVID-19, like fever, cough or respiratory issues.
She asked the public to get tested at fever clinics of the district only if they are suffering from symptoms of COVID-19.
