ACB holds massive raids at 60 locations in State including M’luru

Mangaluru: In the morning of Wednesday November 24, the ACB raided the residence at Urwa in the City here of Smart City Project Executive Engineer K. S. Linge Gowda based on a reliable information. According to the sources, Linge Gowda’s illegal property was the aim of the raid. The ACB team, which consists of seven officers, carried out the investigation and also inspected the related documents in this regard.

Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a massive raid in 60 locations across the State on Wednesday seizing crores of rupees in gold ornaments, cash, and immovable assets such as houses and plots owned by the government officials. These raids were carried out by a team comprising eight police superintendents, 100 officers, and 300 staff, in response to accusations of people acquiring wealth that was out of proportion to their known sources of income. The raids are continuing.

According to sources, the ACB seized 7.5 kgs of gold worth Rs. 3.5 crore including 60 gold biscuits of 100 grams, 8 gold biscuits of 50 grams, diamond necklaces and Rs 15 lakh in cash from his Shivamogga residence of T. S. Rudreshappa, Joint Director of the Agriculture Department.

Similarly, ACB officers also bumped into wads of cash hidden in sarees in the house of L.C. Nagaraj, who works as an administrator of Sakala Department. The officers also confiscated a bundle of dollars from the residence of Group ‘C’ employee Nataji Hiraji Patil in Belagavi.

The team also held raids on Kasaba R. I. Laxmi Narasimha in Doddaballapura and seized silver and gold jewellery as well as cash. During the raid, cash was discovered in the car of Mandya Assistant Executive Engineer, Gadaga Agricultural Joint-Director and Bengaluru Centre Project Manager by the officials.

Sources said that earlier in the morning they learnt that Rajashekar, who worked as a physiotherapist at Yelahanka government hospital, has purchased three BDA sites, two revenue sites besides five acres of land in Doddaballapura taluk near Bengaluru. Most of the purchases were made during and post Covid pandemic.

The raid also unearthed crores of assets from Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bengaluru City Former President Mayanna’s residence in Kathriguppe, Bengaluru.

The other officials whose properties were raided are Srinivas K., Executive Engineer of Hemavathy Left Bank Canal, Mandya, Vasudev, Former Project Manager of Nirmithi Kendra Bengaluru, B. Kishna Reddy, General Manager, Nandini Dairy, Bengaluru, , A. K. Masti, Cooperative Development Officer, Saundatti, Sadashiv Maralingannavar, Senior Motor Inspector, Gokak, K. S. Shivananda, Retired Sub-Registrar Ballary, G. V. Giri, Group D, BBMP Yeshwantpura and S. M. Biradar, Junior Engineer and PWD Jewargi.
