Puttur: Town police here have nabbed an accused on July 22 and booked him under POCSO act for impregnating a minor girl after befriending her.
Ananda(23), son of chowrara of Bellare Patali colony is the accused.
Accused Ananda had sexually abused the victim after befriending her. When government hospital nurses during house visits noticed changes in victim’s body structure, they instructed her to visit the hospital for a medical check-up. Medical examination at the hospital confirmed victim’s pregnancy and minor girl revealed the entire incident and held Ananda responsible for pregnancy.
Later victim’s elder sister registered a case at Puttur town police station. After registering the complaint, police nabbed the accused near Bellare and produced him in the court.
The court has remanded him to judicial custody.
