Puttur: Actor Vinod Alva was arrested at Ishwaramangala, Puttur, on Monday, November 16, on charges of murder conspiracy against his former employee.
According to sources, a person named Sachidananda used to manage all the financial affairs of actor Alva. Sachidanand was also given the power of attorney to carry out financial deals in the actor’s absence. However, in early March, Alva withdrew the power of attorney. Sachidananda then accused that he was not given compensation for his work. He also moved the court in this regard.
On Sunday, November 15, Sachidananda was riding towards the milk dairy at Ishwaramangala when a jeep hit him from behind. It is alleged that the jeep was driven by Uday Chikitaya, an associate of Vinod Alva.
Sachidananda registered a complaint with the Puttur rural police that the collision was an attempt to murder him as he had gone against the actor and also demanded security.
Puttur town Police Inspector Mahesh Prasad, Puttur rural Police Inspector B S Ravi and other police personnel, under the direction of SP Sharanappa arrested the actor and Chikitaya and booked them under charges of murder conspiracy.
It is said that Vinod Alva is a rowdy-sheeter and that he had earlier plotted the murder of a BJP politician. However, the murder could not be materialized.
