Mangaluru: ADGP Alok Mohan arrived in the city on Thursday, June 22.
Following tensions prevailing in Kalladka, the ADGP had earlier visited the city on June 15 and had warned of stringent action against miscreants creating disturbances in the society.
A peace meet convened by Deputy Commissioner K.G. Jagadeesha and Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase with stake holders of both communities to has failed to restore normalcy and the situation just continues to simmer with the hacking of a SDPI leader in broad daylight yesterday.
The ADGP’s visit comes two days ahead of a planned protest by BJP against the derogatory” comments passed by district in-charge minister Rai against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.
Meanwhile, the inefficiency of the police to handle the situation has reportedly led to the transfer of SP Borase with immediate effect. Former Mandya SP CHS Reddy took charge as the new SP of Dakshina Kannada in a low profile ceremony on June 22.
