Mangaluru: MP and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel lashed out at MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan and urged the government to book a case against him under the Goonda Act.
Earlier in the day, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha urged for the immediate arrest of the Chamarajpet MLA.
Addressing the reporters here on Tuesday, April 21, MP Nalin said, “During the Padarayanapura violence, the MLA behaved in an illegal manner and made statements in favour of the miscreants who indulged in violence. He should be sent behind bars immediately.”
The MP also alleged that a few people are still living in the Padarayanapura area of Bengaluru even though their visa has expired. “It is only through the support of MLA Zameer Ahmed that they are able to do this. I will urge Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to file a case under the Goonda Act against Zameer Ahmed as he supported those who attacked members of the medical fraternity,” he added.
Meanwhile, Nalin asked the Congress party to expel Zameer, alleging that he had cheated the grand old party as well.
