Akshatha murder case: ABVP takes out candle march in Sullia

Sullia: Classmates and teachers of Akshatha bid a teary adieu and took out a candle march in memory of her on Wednesday evening.

Akshatha, a II B.Sc students of Nehru Memorial College was stabbed to death by her classmate who was snubbed by Akshatha for having proposed to her.

The candle march was organized by Akhila Bharath Vidhyarthi Parishat in which several locals too took part along with students and teachers of the college. The march commenced at Shri Channakeshava Temple and culminated at KVG College grounds. The college remained closed on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Karthik, classmate of Akshatha who is accused of murdering her has been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.

Akshatha, daughter of Radhakrishna Bhat and Devaki from Mulleriya of Kasargod was stabbed to death by Karthik on Tuesday. Karthik had then slit his nerve in a bid to kill himself, but was saved.
