Mangaluru: All set to start a new oxygen plant construction project in Wenlock Hospital to produce large amounts of oxygen, said MLA Vedavyasa Kamat here on Monday April 26.
At a meeting held in the DC office, MLA Vedavyas Kamath and District Commissioner, Oxygen providers, IMA doctors, and officials discussed providing oxygen in the Southern District hospitals in a timely manner so that there is no shortage of oxygen.
MLA said that the plant will be built within the next 45-50 days. The district will take a major decision in the coming days to prevent the public from suffering from a lack of oxygen in the district.
“It has already been decided to construct an oxygen plant at the ESI and the Taluk Hospital in Bantwal under the CSR grant from MCF. Another taluk has been prepared for the construction of the oxygen plant by MRPL. The remaining two talukas have decided to construct a small oxygen plant and are planning to complete the project soon,” said MLA Kamath.
Oxygen providers, IMA doctors, and other officials were present at the meeting.
