Moodabidri: The Alva’s Institutions scripted history by grabbing 49 ranks in total at the post graduate and degree level examinations of Mangalore University.
In the post graduation section alone Alva’s grabbed 28 ranks in total, with 11 first ranks for the academic period 2014-16.
In the degree section, Alva’s bagged 21 ranks in total with six first ranks during the academic year 2015-16.
Disclosing the information to the reporters, Alva’s Founder President Dr. Mohan Alva, termed the achievement as historic as no other institution in the past had reached such a mile stone.

Sudarshan Shetty (MHRD), Keerthi (MA Eng), Jayalakshmi (Economics), Annapoorna Shetty (Bharatha Natyam), Deevith S Kotyan (MCJ), Venkataramana P B (MSc Math), Jayashri Jain (MSc Analytical Chemistry), Greeshma T. Nair(MSc Applied Botany), Supraja Lakshmi (MSc Food Science & Nutrition), Kavana (PGDBM), Soumyashri Bhat (MCom IBM) are the first rank holders.
Praveena (MSc Food Science & Nutrition), Lolita Edna D’Souza (PGDBM), Supritha (MCom IBM) are the second rank holders.
Rashmitha (M Com) Nischita G Holla (MHRD), Rakshita Kumari T D (MCJ), Suraj Dadannavar (MSc Analytical Chemistry), Kunal G S ( MSc Computer Science), Krithika N G ( MSc Food Science ), Priya (MCom IBM) are the third rank holders.
Anoop H N has secured fourth rank in Social Activity branch.
In the degree section Alva’s students have secured six first ranks, three second ranks, five third ranks and many other ranks, 49 in total.
Alva’s College Principal Dr. Kurien, Public Relations Officer Dr. Padmanabha Shenoy and Jounalism Department lecturer Prasad Shetty divulged the details at a press briefing.
