Moodabidri: Alva’s college won the state-level men’s Ball Badminton championship held recently.
Six teams from the state participated in the tourney which was held at Alva’s college. In the first semis, Alva’s college won against Bengaluru Banashankari college. In the second semi-final Canara college beat Chamarajanagar team and entered the finals.
In the finals, Alva’s college and Canara team had a tough fight, with Alva’s team leading with 35-30 points in the first set. In the second set too, Alva’s students dominated and won the set with 35-22 points.
Ranjith from Alvas college was awarded man of the match and Ekalavya award was bagged by Mohammed Ilias.
Umesh Shetty distributed the prizes to the winners.
