Mangaluru: BJP National President, Amit Shah reached the coastal city on an emergency visit, on Wednesday, November 14.
Though he was scheduled to reach at 4:30 PM to the Mangaluru International Airport, and proceed towards Sangha Niketan for a closed-door meet, it was delayed by 4 hours, as his flight touched down the city at 8:30 PM.
The closed-door meet is said to be with the RSS leaders of South India.
He later proceeded towards the venue of the meet.
The meet is said to be on the issues such as Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Sabarimala, and the recent fallout of the party in the by-polls. Some of the other important issues are also said to be on the agenda of the meet.
Amit Shah is expected to halt on November 14 night in a hotel in the city and is expected to leave for Delhi on Thursday, i.e., November 15 morning.
Shah is also expected to attend a baithak (meet) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Akhila Bharatiya Karyavibhag Pracharak Vargh at Sangha Niketan.
Shah was welcomed by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. BJP National Secretary Santhosh, MLAs C T Ravi, Vedavyas Kamath and other leaders were present.
He is said to reside for rest in Hotel Ocean Pearl of the city.
The baithak is said to conclude on November 15, which began on began on Wednesday, November 15.
One of the main agenda of the meet is said to be the Naxal attacks and the high rate of religious conversions that are taking place in such areas.
In the South India baithak, under the leadership of Operational and Executive Head of the RSS, Bhaiyyaji Joshi, around 250 pracharaks from different states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, etc., are taking part.
Simultaneously, a baithak in North India too is organised under the leadership of RSS Chief, Mohan Bhagwat.
