Anil Lobo Fermai is Catholic Sabha Mangaluru President

Mangaluru: Popular Youth Leader and Director of M.C.C. Bank Anil Lobo, Fermai has been elected as the President of Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh for 2016-17 with a thumping majority in the first executive committee meeting for the year 2016-17 held at Bishop’s House on Sunday, August 14, 2016.

Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh is a strong laity organization started in year 1979 in the then undivided Diocese of Mangalore. Rajya Sabha MP and former central minister Oscar Fernandes was the founder president of the Catholic Sabha and Late Fr. Stanley Pereira was the founder Spiritual Director.

Anil Lobo is the 21st President of Catholic Sabha and Angelore Parish Priest, Rev Fr. Mathew Vas is the current Spiritual Director.

Other office bearers elected were President designate: Melvyn D Costa, Gantallkatte; Vice President: David D Souza, Bajpe; General Secretary: Walter Monis, Belthangady; Joint Secretary: Cyril Ferrao, Vittal Manela; Treasurer: Vivid D Souza, Katipalla; Joint Treasurer: James Lobo, Kirem and Immediate past president: Flavy D Souza, Ranipura.

About Anil Lobo, Fermai

Anil Lobo, who hails from Fermai (formerly Omzoor Parish), started displaying his community leadership qualities way back in the year 1999 in ICYM, Omzoor Parish. He became the president of ICYM Central Council in the year 2003. He shifted to Valencia, Mangalore in the year 2007 and is very active in parish activities. He is the convener of Youth Welfare Committee of Valencia parish and also serves as the parish council member. He has also served as the President of Catholic Sabha, Valencia Parish for a term and as a president of Episcopal City Varado for two consecutive terms. Presently he is the Convenor of Building Committee of Konkani Natak Sabha, Mangaluru.

As the President of Catholic Sabha, Valencia Parish he organized successful events like Christajayanti Ganalahari in the year 2011 and Christajayanti Kala Sangama in the year 2012. As a president of Episcopal City Varado he had organized another successful event called Christmas Food Fiesta in the year 2014 at Milagres Church grounds. The event was planned for building 10 homes for the homeless of Diocese of Mangaluru and the work will be started in October this year.

He had also served as the secretary of Rachana, catholic chamber of commerce and industry for the year 2014-15. He was elected as a director of MCC Bank in the year 2015 with highest votes and is presently serving as the Director of MCC Bank.
