Mangaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Labour Cell President S.S Prakasam asked the public to reject the BJP candidates, claiming that the anti-labour policies of the BJP during the last five years has pushed the working classes into trouble.

Speaking to the reporters at District Congress office on Monday, April 15 he said, “ there is no life security to the 62 per cent of workers who are working in unorganised sectors in the country. The interest rate of the Provident Fund (PF) too has been reduced after Modi government assumed power at the Centre. Hence, workers should not vote for the BJP”.

Informing about the ill-effects of Goods and Services Tax (GST) Prakasam said,”the complexities of the new regime tax have driven many small enterprises out of business and put thousands of people out of jobs. This GST is a way of removing money from the pockets of the poor. Due to the demonetisation, 115 people died, but no compensation has been provided to the victims’ families.”

Meanwhile, Prakasam cautioned that if the working classes decide to change the government, none would be able to divert their attention. “As working classes are fed up of the anti-labour programmes of the central government, they would replace the BJP government with the Congress, ” he added.

Labour Cell leaders like Ameer Ahmed, Mohan Mendon, Jnanesh, Palani Swamy, Abbas Ali, Kodijal Ibrahim, Lokesh Puttur among others were present
