Annual Dasara procession from Kudroli will be restricted to 12 hours

Mangaluru: The Dasara procession ‘Shobha Yatra”, which will begin on October 19 from the Kudroli Gokarnatha temple here, will be restricted to 12 hours.

Speaking to the press, the temple management committee’s treasurer, Padmaraj said on Wednesday, that the procession is set to begin at 4 PM and end on October 20 at 4 AM. He also said that more than 70 tableaus and around 100 folk artiste troupes from all over the state will be part of the procession.

On the occasion, the idols of Sharada and Navadurga will be taken out in the procession through the city.

He also informed that, from this year onwards, the only vehicle accompanying the procession will be the generator vehicle. Two coordinators have been assigned to each of the tableaux and they are responsible for making sure that everything moves smoothly. Their Aadhaar cards have been collected and they have been given special shawls. Along with the coordinators, there will be an assistant sub-inspector and four constables, he added.
