Another COVID-19 patient gets discharged from hospital

Mangaluru: A 49-year-old man from the Aryapu village in Puttur was discharged on Tuesday, April 14, from the Wenlock Hospital after recovering from COVID-19.

With this, a total of nine persons of the total 12 patients, have been discharged from the Wenlock Hospital after recovering from COVID-19. The remaining three are receiving treatment and are recovering.

The person who was discharged from the hospital today, returned from Dubai and arrived at the Bengaluru airport on March 20 and travelled to Aryapu in a taxi. As he had throat pain, he was admitted to the Puttur Taluk hospital on March 28. The test results of his throat swabs came back positive for COVID-19 on April 1.

After providing treatment at the Wenlock hospital, his throat swabs were again sent on April 12 and 13. He was discharged today as the results came back negative for COVID-19.

It can be noted that there have been no new positive coronavirus cases in the DK district for the past ten days straight.

All the discharged patients have been asked to undergo 28 days of home quarantine as a precautionary measure, Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said in a press release.
