Mangaluru: One more drama troupe ‘Lahari’ is all set to entertain the Tulu theatre lovers. The troupe is taking the audience on a roll with its new play ‘Pudar Bodchi, Ooru Bodchi.’
Kishore D Shetty, who has already two drama troupes ‘Lakumi’ and ‘Lalithe’, has given thousands of shows even abroad. To encourage the budding talents to perform, he has started another troupe ‘Lahari’ now.
Seeking the cooperation of all theatre lovers, Kishore D Shetty convened a press conference in the city on Wednesday, July 10 and informed that there were over 18 artistes in the new troupe. “Along with the budding artistes like Praveen Jain Moodbidri, Gayathri Mahesh Shetty, Bhavya Bajpe among others, some seniors like Yadava Mannagudde, Narendra Saripalla, Nithin Hosangadi, Shiva Kumar Rai Mudipu, Deekshith Kootathaje, Ashwin Kotian among others are also there in the troupe”, shetty said.
Shetty informed that over 80 artistes were working in three troupes. While some have opted it as a passion, some others have taken it as a profession. “As there a was huge demand from the audience and from the artistes, the new troupe ‘Lahari’ was born. I am just supporting the zeal of the artistes by forming drama troupes”, he said.
Comedy artiste Manju Rai Muloor said that there was a bright opportunity for the theatre artistes in the recent days.” As the new team has a mixture of both budding and experienced artistes, people will definitely support our team”, he expressed confidence.
