Mangaluru: The Catholic Sabha of Mangaluru Pradesh has warned of a bundh in three districts if the rogue student who assaulted Principal of Milagres College is not nabbed within three days.
Chief Secretary of Catholic Sabha, Walter Monis mentioned about the irrational and outrageous atrocity by Mohammad Shahnawaz who assaulted Fr. Michael Santhmayor after the prior was denied hall ticket owing to shortage of attendance.
“We condemn this act of Shahnawaz and demand his arrest at the earliest. It is not the first time that Shahnawaz has behaved in this manner. The college administration had asked him to write 18 apology letters earlier for bad conduct on various occasions and was even suspended once on the same lines”, Monis added.
According to College Union Leader Melita Pais, Shahnawaz was always a rogue in college. “He used to display a lot of aggression on campus. Few days ago he had threatened a lecturer and threw the attendance register”, Melita said.
Walter Monis cautioned the city police that if Shahnawaz is not caught in the next three days, members of the Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh will call for a bandh in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod districts.
