Bantwala: Heavy Rains Cause Widespread Damage in the Taluk

Bantwala: June 06, Bantwala Taluk experienced relentless heavy rains that continued to pour overnight, leading to widespread damage in several areas. Residents faced the wrath of the downpour as trees fell, houses were damaged, and even vehicles were not spared.

In the village of Karminadi, located in Kanyana, Vasanthi’s house suffered partial damage due to a tree falling during the storm. Similarly, Nebisa’s house in Veerakambha village, specifically in Majjoni, also experienced damage caused by a tree collapse. Furthermore, the compound wall of a house belonging to a person known as Baby in Majhi, Veerakambha village, was severely damaged.

The village of Allikande in Kolnadu faced the devastating impact of a landslide, leaving Rafeeq’s house in ruins. In Tenkakajekaru village, Sheelavathi’s house suffered extensive damage, while Alimamma’s residence in Manchi village, Hegdeguli, was also affected by the heavy rains.

In yet another incident, a tree fell on a vehicle parked near Ismail’s house in Kodaje, Manhi village, causing irreparable damage to the vehicle. Mohan Kulal, a resident of Palike, experienced damage to his house as a result of a fallen tree. Similarly, Gopi’s house in Pilatabettu village, Manchgudde, also fell victim to the fury of the storm. Notably, Tungappa Bangera, the former Zilla Panchayath vice-president, visited the affected areas to assess the situation.

Livestock was not spared from the havoc caused by the heavy rains either. A cattle shed in Bettasaravu, Veerakambha village, suffered damage due to the relentless downpour. Additionally, a tree fall damaged Rohini’s house in Ananthadi village.

The residents of Bantwala Taluk find themselves grappling with the aftermath of this severe weather event. Authorities are working diligently to provide assistance and support to those affected. As the region continues to face the impact of heavy rains, it is crucial for residents to remain cautious and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
