Mangaluru: ‘BioMali’, an automatic organic waste converter has been installed at Sai Grandeur Apartment, which was formally inaugurated by Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavys Kamath recently.
Hayka is the dealer of BioMali of Netel company from Mumbai. The co-founder of Hayka Sameeksha said the unit was fully automated and operates similar to that of a washing machine controlling the temperature, moisture and micro-organisms ( sensor control).
“Within 24 hours, the compost is prepared. Out of 50 kg of organic waste, five kg of soil enricher can be obtained. It requires no labour. The sold waste should be loaded before switching on the machine, ” she informed.
Meanwhile, Sameeksha Shetty informed that eighteen units of power are required to prepare 100 kgs of waste. Minimal space is sufficient. In case of shortage of space, it can be installed on the rooftop. It is noise-free, odour-free and pollution-free, she informed.
The compost generated is of good quality and will help in gardening and agricultural sector. Traders will come forward to buy this manure while Mangaluru creates a market for it. Customers will benefit from the money they have invested by having a fully automated machine, Sameeksha added.
