Mangaluru: Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha secretary Ravikiran Punacha has alleged that the BJP led government has been trying to favor corporate companies by bringing amendments to the APMC Act, and Land Reforms Act among others.
Speaking to reporters on Friday Ravikiran Punacha said, “the BJP government at the center has been insisting on the state government to bring amendments to the APMC Act, and Land Reforms Act among others. The hidden agenda behind this move is to favor the corporate companies. It is also trying to privatize the Agriculture sector, its production, and the market system. If their plan materializes, it will be a big setback to the whole farmer fraternity”.
Ravikiran also informed that the district unit of Raitha Sangha has been preparing to fight against the government’s move in this regard. “The Raitha Sangha will be organizing a series of protests at Taluk centers throughout the district from June 27 to July 1. Through these protests, Raitha Sangha would show its displeasure about the anti-farmer moves of government and urge the government to withdraw its decision ” he said.
