Mangaluru: With just a few days left for the assembly elections in Karnataka, political parties have intensified the blame game. Attacking the BJP, Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Bhaskar Moily alleged that BJP’s accusations against Congress were baseless and far from the truth.
Addressing a press meet at DCC, Bhaskar Moily said, “BJP’s claims that there was no development during Congress are lies.”
“What is the contribution of former MLA N Yogish Bhat during his four terms as MLA? The people know about J R Lobo’s developmental works in the city. Since J R Lobo assumed office as an MLA, he has accelerated the implementation of various developmental works in the city”, Moily said.
“Lobo has worked for the development of rural areas by providing basic infrastructure”, he added.
“During J R Lobo’s tenure, the works like distribution of title deed to the poor, construction of houses, development of markets and various other works have been done. In the second phase of urban development programme, the government through a special grant, has sanctioned 141 works, out of which 117 works have been completed and 17 works are under progress. Tender has been called for 7 works”, Bhaskar Moily added.
Moily also alleged that BJP was misleading the people with its lies.
