Mangaluru: “We will announce Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in both Mangaluru and Udupi Lok Sabha constituencies after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses a gathering of 1 lakh from both the districts at Nehru Maidan on Saturday, April 13,” said a confident V Sunil Kumar, Karkala MLA and BJP Dakshina Kannada District Election In-charge.
Speaking to reporters at Nehru Maidan after inspecting the preparations there, Sunil Kumar said, “All is set for Modi’s public meeting at Nehru Maidan and all precautionary measures have been taken to ensure smooth conduction of the meeting. Over 75,000 chairs were arranged at the Football ground and upper portion of the Nehru Maidan. State leaders including BJP State President and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, MLA C T Ravi among others will also take part in the public meeting. Besides that, chowkidars of all 1861 booths in Dakshina Kannada district, MLAs, MLCs and representatives from all Shakthi Kendras will participate in the public meeting”, he informed.
Sunil Kumar opined that the massive rally and public meeting will create a new history in the district politics claiming that a tremendous response had already started pouring in for the scheduled meeting. “We are expecting over 1 lakh people from both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi for the rally. See the good response BJP has been receiving from the public, it is confirmed that the candidates of Udupi and Mangaluru would win with a huge margin of 2 lakh votes”, he said.
“The massive rally will start from Ambedkar Circle at around 3.15 PM. Later, Modi will address the gathering at around 4.20 PM. People should be present at the venue before 3 PM”, Sunil Kumar added.
BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel, Puttur MLA and District BJP President Sanjeeva Matandoor, Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty among other leaders were present.
