Mangaluru: In the light of the recent love Jihad case, a board prohibiting non-Hindu vehicles from entering Kokkada Village in Southadka was erected on Friday June 3.
Recently, a Muslim autorickshaw driver from Malligemajalu it is alleged befriended a Hindu girl, made her fall in love with him and married her in act of love Jihad. This incident had gone viral all over. There are also complaints that Muslim autorickshaw drivers are obtaining mobile numbers of Hindu girls and ladies. This had also led to communal skirmish in Kokkada Village.
Further, Hindu organisations in a recent incident had threatened an autorickshaw driver over an alleged incidence of love Jihad.
According to the Kannada board, non-Hindu vehicles have been forbidden from accessing the Hindus’ sacred village due to an increase in cases of love Jihad. It is said that the board was erected after consulting elders in Baithak.
Southadka Temple Officials informed that the board was put up in a public space, and they had nothing to do with it.
Further, the Hindu organisations have warned that such prohibition will be extended to all the religious places if such incidents are observed therein.
