Mangaluru: A 13-year-old boy who opposed the sexual harassment by a man here was stabbed to death by his offender in Kundamangala Madavoor on July 14.
The deceased has been identified as Majeed, a ninth class student of CM Centre in Madavoor. Though Majeed was immediately taken to a hospital in Calicut, he did not respond to the treatment and succumbed to his wounds.
The police have arrested Shamshudin (45), a resident of Muliyaru in this connection.
It is gathered that the accused was trying to flee the spot after stabbing the boy when the locals nabbed him and handed him over to the police.
Police have seized the knife used for murder.
The accused, it is learnt has confessed to the police that he had stabbed the boy after he resisted his sexual advances.
Majeed was playing in the ground, as he had no classes on Friday. Reportedly, Shamshuddin had come arrived here and when Majeed tied to escape, he caught him and stabbed him.
