Mangaluru: The rituals Sahasra Brahmakalashabhisheka, Mahadandarudrabhisheka and Maharudra Yaga held once in 12 years, will be observed at the historic Kadri Manjunatha temple between May 2 and 11.
The Brahmakalashotsava Committee President A J Shetty told reporters here on Saturday, April 27 that the rituals will be held under the leadership of Derebail Vittaladasa Tantri. They will commence from May 2 with a mass prayer which follows the Thorana Muhurta, Ugrana Muhurta, Adhyagana Yaga among others. A meeting of the pontiffs will be held followed by a religious discourse by Odiyoor pontiff Gurudevananda Swamiji.
Religious leaders like Pejawar Matt seer Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji, Mohandas Swamiji of Manila, Yogananda Saraswathi Swamiji of Kondevoor, Kateel Lakshminarayana Asranna, Vidyaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Narasimha Matt among others will deliver sermons during the 10-day programme. During the final day of the Brahmakalashotsava programme, Malaraya, Vaidyanatha and Pilichamundi Nemotsava will be held, he informed.
