Mangaluru: The police department will likely move the court with a plea to cancel the bail granted to Santosh Acharya, the accused in the live mobile camera in University campus ladies’ toilet case.
City police commissioner, Chandra Sekhar, speaking at a press meet on Sunday said that there are a few reports suggesting the involvement of some influential person due to which case registered against Santhosh was under IPC’s sections of minor crimes. This made the accused to get bail easily. “There are few allegations making rounds. If those are true, we will take all those people into our custody,” said Chandra Sekhar.
Santhosh was arrested on Wednesday, September 14 and was sent to judicial custody after he was produced in the court. He was charged under IT act 66 and Section 354 C. Santhosh was out on Septemeber 15 spending just a day in the judicial custody. The quick bail to the accused led to various allegations against the police.
