Case registered against Nalin Kumar for ‘set DK on fire’ statement

Mangaluru: After his fiery speech announcing that the entire Dakshina Kannada district would be set ablaze if murders of Karthik Raj were not caught in 10 days, a case stands registered against MP Nalin Kumar Kateel at Konaje police station.
The case has been registered under section 506 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

While the Court has asked for more information on the same, the police are awaiting directions from the court to take up next course of action.

It may be recalled that on January 2, Kateel had made this statement while addressing a protest rally. The statement evoke sharp criticism from all quarters. However, he had clarified that he did not intend to disturb communal harmony whatsoever.
