Mangaluru: A concerned citizen of Mangaluru and founder of Nirmala Travels C Upendra Kamath reminded the electorate about their duty to vote in the upcoming elections.
In a letter to the media, Kamath claimed that most of the educated, employed and business people vote in the elections. However, he said the wealthy refrain from voting as they feel they are too important to vote. He also said that people from the lower rungs of society such as daily wage workers, unemployed and addicts vote for the parties who dole out freebees.
In his letter, Kamath appealed to the electorate to vote responsibly by not being influenced by the favours given out by the political parties.
