Catholic Maha Samavesha 2020 : pole blessing and laying ceremony held at Madanthyar

Belthangady: Blessing and laying of pole for mantapa for the Catholic Maha Samavesha 2020, the biggest event of 3 catholic Diocese – Mangalore, Puttur, and Belthangady was held on 12 January 2020 at Sacred Heart Church, Madanthyar premises.

V. Rev. Fr Joseph, Vicar General of Belthangady Diocese blessed the venue of the event and prayed for the success of the Catholic Maha Samavesha 2020. Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Vicar Forane, Belthangady Deanery of Mangalore Diocese, Rev. Fr Basil Vas, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church, Rev. Fr Mathew Vas, Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh, Rev. Fr Ronald DSouza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese and other priest were present.

Paul Rolphy D’Costa, President of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh, Joel Mendonsa, Convener of Catholic Maha Samavesha 2020, office bearer’s of different associations of different parishes and community leaders were present.

Under the aegis of 3 catholic Diocese – Mangalore, Puttur, and Belthangady the day-long event to be held on 2nd February 2020 at Sacred Heart Church, Madanthyar premises Catholic Maha Samavesha 2020 is jointly organised by Catholic Sabha, ICYM and Diocesan Council for Women of all the three dioceses. The event has the bishop of Mangaluru Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Puttur Syro Malankara Catholic Diocese Rev Dr. George Kalayil and Bishop of Belthangady Syro Malabar Diocese Lawrence Mukkuzhyas the patrons and will have the theme – To unite, to reflect and to strengthen. The event aims at bringing together around 5000 Catholics of all the three dioceses and discuss various topics.
