Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch police, on Wednesday, June 3, arrested one person from the city for his alleged ties to notorious gangster Ravi Pujari, informed Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ghulam. He has been remanded to 10-day police custody.
According to Joint Commissioner Patil, during the investigation of a case connected to the notorious gangster, it was found that Ghulam was a close associate and aided him in extortion and other illegal activities. He was arrested from Mangaluru and produced before a court, following which he was remanded to police custody.
Further investigation is underway.
It can be recalled that Ravi Pujari was extradited from Senegal to Bengaluru earlier this year. He had been dodging the police for the past two decades.
