CCB police arrest 9 gamblers

Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested nine persons for gambling at Dambel and seized cash of Rs 30440, cards and tables which were being used in gambling on Sunday, October 28.

The arrested have been identified as Mohan D (28), a resident of Ashoknagar, Aboobakar Siddik (26) of Kumble, Kasargod district, Vinod Kumar (28) of Talapady, Durgappa Gudimani (29) of Rona in Gadag district, Mohammed Yusuf (46) of Sandesh Baliga (29) of Kukkandoor, Karkala, Balappa Honnappa Horaginamani (27) of Bagalkot district, Ismail (53) of Valachil and Pammi alias Praveen (25) of Kodialbail.

Acting on a tip off, a team of CCB police headed by Inspector Shantharam and inspectors Shyam Sundar and H D Kabbal Raj had been to Dambel and found a group of youth involved in gambling and arrested all 9 persons. The police also seized cards, tables and cash of Rs 30,440 from their possession.

A case has been registered at Kavoor Police Station in this regard.
