CCB police nab one for running prostitution racket

Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly running a prostitution racket at Matadakani and seized articles worth Rs 1.71 Lakh from his possession on Monday, November 19.

The arrested has been identified as Megharaj (26), son of Anand, a resident of Daddalkad in Derebail, Kuntikana. According to sources, the accused was running a prostitution racket in a rented house at Matadakani. Based on a credible information, a team of police headed by CCB Inspector Shantaram and Sub Inspector Kabbal Raj in association with Barke Sub Inspector Shobha rushed to the spot. Police seized two mobile phones, a laptop, two motorcycles and an autorickshaw from his possession.

Police sources also informed that the accused Megharaj was assisted by some others who are yet to be arrested. A case has been registered at Barke police station in this regard.
