Mangaluru: A security personnel of an ATM at Moodbidri was tied to a tree by miscreants, who committed the act of robbery, in the early hours of September 2.
At first, they are said to have broken the doors of Evergreen mobile shop owned by Rajesh and stolen 22 mobiles worth Rs. 1.80 lakh. Their next stop was Sri Dhanalakshmi Jewellers owned by Narayana Acharya. Eight grams gold and Rs. 10,000 in cash was swiped off.
When asked, Lakshman, the security personnel of the nearby Karnataka Bank ATM, said that his hands and mouth restrained with rope and cloth, respectively. He was then threatened and thrown into a swamp. Lakshman was then saved by a car driver. Later, DYSP and Fingerprint experts reached the spot and the investigation is on.
