Citys new land mark, Father Muller Convention Centre inaugurated

Mangaluru: The Father Muller Convention Centre, A Magnificent edifice was inaugurated by his H. E. Dr.Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Banglore and later blessed by Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore. Minister of Forests, Government of Karnataka, B Ramanatha Rai unveiled the plaque on the occasion during a glittering ceremony on March 12.

At 8 am in the morning Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza led the Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration as the main celebrant which was followed by the inauguration and blessing of Father Muller Convention Centre at 10 am where Arch Bishop Dr. Bernard Moras was the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Bishop Moras said that the convention centre having seating capacity of over 1750 is one of the unique and large structures in the state which will help to conduct socio-cultural and other programmes. “Fr Muller institution with its motto ‘heal and comfort’ has rendered selfless serivce to all and I am grateful to the institution where I had served as assistant director for 14 years earlier for moulding me.”

Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza in his address hailed Father Muller director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, the main person behind the project.

The convention centre is ideal to host events, parties, ceremonies, functions, meetings, conferences, conventions and other programs. The centre has skillfully designed halls under one roof namely the Muller Auditorium, Muller Dine and Muller Mini Hall. The Muller auditorium consist of 38,750 sq.feet space with an aesthetically designed stage of 3500 sq.feet. Apart from is other regular features like Green room, was room facilities etc.

It has state-of-the-art synchronized illumination systems and the best sound system by Bose. It can accommodate over 1750 people at a time. The Muller Mini Hall has a capacity of 5600 Sq.feet area and can accommodate over 500 people at a time. The Duller Dine which has access both to the Muller auditorium as well as the Muller Mini Hall is 25,750 Sq.feet are and can accommodate over a 1000 people at a time. This hall can be used as a dining area along with the other halls or separately to host any event with enough space to serve food.

The unique features which event organizers are going to find exceptional is the exquisite landscaping for Photography and Videography. The centre can boast of high capacity lifts and escalators for easy access, fully integrated audio visual and IT equipments, Wi-Fi connectivity, emergency exits as per the best standards in the industry, smoke detectors, fire alarm system and the well arranged Parking Facility which can accommodate over 700 cars. The entry and the exit to the convention centre is from the Pumpwell gate ie NH 66.

This is the biggest project of the Diocese of Mangalore and with its inauguration; FMCI added another feather to its cap.

The convention centre is in the heart of the city and this is an added boon to the citizens of Dakshina Kannada and people of Mangalore, the future smart city. The Convention Centre is available not only for socio-cultural programs but also for academic events.

Galaxy of guests, VIPs and invitees were present during the mega event including Msgr. Denis Moras Prabhu,Vicar General and Vice President of FMCI, Ivan D’Souza, Chief Whip in State Legislative Council and J R Lobo, Member of State Legislative Assembly .

Mementoes were given away for all those who offered their services in building the magnificent convention centre in the heart of the city.
