Mangaluru: Clashed erupted at Ullal Dargah here on Monday, June 26 after the Dargah administrative committee reportedly locked doors to the Dargah denying entry to the people who had come to offer Eid prayers.
Reportedly while the coastal region Muslims had observed Eid al-Fitr on June 25, the Ullal Qazi who had sighted the crescent moon on June 25 had called on people to offer prayers at the Dargah today.
As per his instructions the group had arrived at the Dargah but were agitated to find the doors closed thereby resulting in clashes. A person identified as Monu was severely injured in the clash.
Ullal and Mangaluru police immediately rushed to the spot to disburse the mob. It is gathered that the agitated mob even threatened the media of damaging their cameras if they videographed the incident.
